There are a couple of different successful strategies that successful bloggers make the use of to make money from blogging.

The most common method of turning a blog into a revenue earning asset is to sell advertising within the structure of your blog.  This advertising space is sold to different companies and businesses who are looking at reaching your blogs reader base.

The next method of making money blogging is to help a business entity or brand in improving it’s image.  This is achieved by developing positive connections between your blog and the product that the consumer is searching for.

Now these two methods of blogging to make money can bring in a good income.  If you are good at marketing then you already have a head start.

If you are looking at blogging with the main focus on selling advertising space, there are two types of methods you can use to get sponsors to advertise on your site.  One way is to do all the hard work yourself and in turn keep all the revenue that is generated through this.  The other option is to sell your advertising space by utilising Google’s AdSense program.

There are many benefits from using Google’s AdSense program particularly because it requires minimal , as it requires very little effort on behalf of the blogger to make money from this.  You must keep in mind though that many people soon find that their blog actually ends up making less profit than they had desired.

People don’t realise that by selling advertising space to companies and businesses who want to put their sponsored links and banner ads on your blog can take a lot of time.  In the end though if you stick to it, it can become very profitable.  It all depends on how well you plan and set up your blog in the first place along with the effort you put in to marketing it.

The first place I would be looking to find suitable businesses to advertise on your blog would be yourself.  Have a quick think about companies you have worked for and contacts you have made in different industries.

Do any of these businesses have a connection with the topic of your blog?  Do they have websites they are trying to market as well?  It doesn’t hurt to make some phone calls and see what you can come up with.

If you are comfortable with selling and pitching proposals then you could also do a search for businesses in your local & surrounding areas with websites.  Again see if their business is related to the theme of your blog and give them a call.

Having to build a large reader base and driving a large amount of traffic to your site is the downside to this method of blogging to make money.  Not having lots of traffic to your site each day is not a good incentive to attract suitable advertisers.

It can take you numerous hours and even several months of hard work and dedication before your blog may start making money, but if you give up with out trying then you have no chance at succeeding.

Stick to your plan and get into a routine.  This makes it easier to do all the necessary tasks to drive traffic, build your reader base, gain advertisers and in return a chance at making money from your blog.
