Today we are going to discuss how joint venture giveaways can help you generate traffic to your site.  As a matter of fact, they do a lot more than just generate traffic to your site.  Joint venture giveaways can also assist you in building a large opt-in list, within a very short period of time.  This helps you to bring those visitors back to your site time and time again.

Joining a joint venture giveaway is free and very simple to do. First you need to find a giveaway, and these can be found through joint venture related forums, or through search engines. Once you’ve found a giveaway event,  you need to have a free gift to give away.

Your gift can be something that you create yourself, or have had created for you.  Your gift could be an item such as a free report, an audio, a video, an ebook or even a piece of software.  You can also giveaway a Private Label Rights product that you have.  The most important thing is that your gift has good value to the people that will be downloading it.

You will need to set up an opt-in page, which is also referred to as a squeeze page or a lead capture page. You will also need an autoresponder and a domain to host your site on.  Your squeeze page needs to be connected to your auutoresponder, where you will need to set up a list for the giveaway.   Once this is set up you will then need to create a confirmation email and download link for the gift email in your autoresponder.

Once a visitor has clicked on the submit button on your opt-in page there are 2 things that happen.  They are re-directed to a confirmation/thank you page and they are then sent a confirmation email containing a link for them to click on to verify that they do want to be on your list.   This is all set up in within your autoresponder service.   Most autoresponders have a generic, built in confirmation page which your visitors get directed to.  This advises them that they will be sent a confirmation email in which they will need to click on the link to confirm their subscription to your list.  Once they have clicked on this link they are then taken to the download page for the item you are giving away.  Again this needs to be set up in your autoresponder.

Now once this has all been set up you are now ready to enter all your gifts information into the joint venture giveaway.  You will need to have handy the name of your gift, a graphic of the product, a short description of your gift, the URL of your opt-in page (squeeze page) and the link to the download page for that gift.

By utilising joint venture giveaways you will be able to build a nice list.  At the same time remember that you are also wanting to generate traffic as well.  What you don’t want is someone showing up to your site, downloading their gift then never returning to your site again.  This is where your opt-in list becomes very important.  Used in the right way you will be able to keep bringing your visitors back again and again.

Today’s Homework Task:

Search for and visit some joint venture related forums.  Try to find at least one or two joint venture giveaways to take part in.  Create your gift and opt-in page along with any other pages that you need for the giveaway.  Sit back and watch the traffic roll in and your opt-in list grow!
